In Lankhmar on one murky night, if we can believe the runic books of Sheelba of the Eyeless Face, there met for the first time those two dubious heroes and whimsical scoundrels, Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser. Fafhrd's origins were easy to perceive in his near seven-foot height and limber-looking ranginess, his hammered ornaments and huge longsword Format: NOOK Book (Ebook). Fafhrd/Gray Mouser Thank you Audible for making Fritz Leiber's Fafhrd/Gray Mouser series available. The narrator Jonathan Davis does an outstanding job of bringing life to this saga. Mr. Leiber was such a wonderful wordsmith. Listening to this series is such a treat after reading them all 25+ years ago.

The book includes all of the stories that make up Swords and Deviltry along with two archival essays by Harry O. Fischer, Fritz Leiber’s introduction, two “Gray Mouser” poems from The Acolyte, and an interview with Fritz Leiber from   Guys, Fritz Leiber’s Fafhrd and Gray Mouser are basically the bee’s knees. In fact, I might go so far as to say they are the most Dungeons and Dragons of anything on the Appendix N list.

Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser () # by Howard Chaykin, Mike Mignola, Al Williamson and Sherilyn van Valkenburgh. That’s some list of creators. I like all of them, but this is an adaptation, and they usually go awry, anyway.   This is the first of the Fafhrd and Grey Mouser books. It includes the origin story for each hero, as well as _Ill Met in Lanhkmar_, a classic novella that no true fantasy fan can afford to miss. It is truly can write circles around most fantasy writers, just as the Mouser's trusty blades Scalpel and Cat's Claw forever carve 5/5(5).
